Step 1: Connect your Kindle to computer via USB
Step 2: Find the file Kindle/documents/My Clippings.txt on your Kindle
Step 3: Open Kindle Highlights Exporter in your browser, drag & drop the file onto the upload area

How to Activate PRO

  2. Click Upgrade to PRO or Learn More on the tool
  3. Enter your PRO key (format: KINDLE-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
  4. Click Activate
  5. Once activated, the buttons will show ✅ and you can export all books

After activation, your PRO status is saved in the browser. You don't need to re-enter the key unless you clear browser data or switch to a different browser.

How to Transfer to a New Computer

If you get a new computer or want to use the tool on another device:

  1. Open the tool on the new device
  2. Click Learn More on the PRO card
  3. Enter your PRO key again
  4. That's it — your key works on up to 3 devices

Troubleshooting

No highlights found

Make sure you're using the correct My Clippings.txt file from your Kindle's documents folder. The file should contain your highlights and notes separated by ========== markers.

Export button doesn't download

Some browsers may block downloads. Look for a download icon in your browser's address bar and allow the download.

PRO key not working

Make sure you enter the key exactly as shown, with hyphens. Format: KINDLE-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. If it still doesn't work, contact support with your purchase receipt.

How do I get My Clippings.txt?

Connect your Kindle to your computer via USB. It appears as a external drive. Navigate to the documents folder and look for My Clippings.txt. Copy it to your computer and drag it onto the tool.

If you don't have a Kindle, click "Load Sample Clippings" to try the tool with sample data.
